From the Upper Elementary principal's Desk
Dear Upper Elementary School Parents,
The UES continues to come back to life with our students in session 100%. It has been a breath of fresh air to see students participating in ASA’s. I’ve also enjoyed seeing World Language classes go back to pre-COVID frequency, our Student-Led ASB Officers elected, and dismissal moved to outside. With the cooling weather, we’ve also been able to move our lunches outside for Grade 5, and we are planning to follow suit for Grades 3 and 4.
Today, we had our first Spirit Day here in the UES. Our ASB Officers, led by our Counselor Sara MacDonald, have created Spirit Days where our UES students can show their school spirit by joining in. This week’s Spirit Day was called “Fall in the Hall”. Students were encouraged to wear fall colors of red, orange, yellow, green and brown. Next week, our Spirit Day is on Monday, November 15, and it is called “Role Model Monday”. Students will come to school dressed up as their favorite person or role model. Also, we have a Principal’s Coffee session coming up on Monday, November 15 from 9:00 am - 10:00 am. The topic will focus on the Responsible Use of Technology and Internet Safety. Martin Reinsmoen, our IT Integration Specialist, will be presenting at this event. So far, we have 15 parents who have reserved a spot. Please complete this form if you’d like to be included. We are limited to 30 total attendees, so please complete the form without delay. The session will happen in person and will be located in the Elementary School Presentation Room (ESPR). The sign up form will be closed by the end of school on Sunday, Nov 14.

A message from the Business Office
Parents, if your family is moving from Doha, and your child will be withdrawing from ASD, please notify Admissions immediately. According to policy, for first semester, private pay tuition will be refunded after the later of the 45 day written notice period or the last day of attendance. Full 2nd semester tuition is due and payable for any student enrolled at the start of the second semester, no refunds will be made. For any questions on the refund policy, please contact the Business Office.
